Learn to Camp with Color in the Outdoors and Dane County Parks

Event Description
Whether it’s your first time camping or you want to build confidence outdoors, this beginner-friendly program offers hands-on learning in a supportive setting. Learn tent setup, gear basics, fire starting, and simple campfire cooking. Connect with others and build skills—no experience needed. Gear available to borrow.
This event will run Saturday, May 16th from 1:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. Cant stay the whole time or don't want to stay overnight? No problem!

Cost:
$5 per person OR
$25 per family
Scholarships are available through Color in the Outdoors. Email colorintheoutdoors@gmail.com to request a scholarship to participate.
Age: all (minors must be accompanied by an adult)
Registration:
Register for this event using our online reservation site. At checkout, you can select if you are bringing your own tent or want to borrow one of ours. Tents are first come, first served.
