Over the year, you’ll visit all 25 recreation parks, discover hidden gems, and take part in seasonal activities. Whether you’re a solo explorer, a family, or a group of friends, this challenge is designed for everyone. Along the way, you’ll connect with nature, learn about local wildlife, and create memories that will last long after the year ends.
For just $50 per person/team, you'll receive:
Challenge T-shirt: Earn a special 2027 Parks Challenge T-shirt upon completing the journal by December 15, 2027.
The cost to participate in the Parks Challenge is $50 per person/team. Sign up today and challenge yourself to explore Dane County Parks in 2027! Online registration closed January 31st. To register, please contact the Heritage Center via email heritagecenter@danecounty.gov or phone (608) 224-3604.
A full list of Dane County Recreation Parks will also be sent to you once you register. The list is also available on the Dane County Parks website and includes a link to each park property webpage where you can find trail maps, restroom information, addresses, photos and more.
If you would like to complete the challenge as a group, we encourage you to do so! You will only receive the one hard copy of the journal, three complementary passes, and one t-shirt for each registration. You may request additional t-shirts after completing the program for an additional charge.
There is no age limit to participate!
