Event Description
Join Dane County Parks staff in this relaxing 4.25 mile paddle on the Yahara River. Learn canoe paddle strokes, practice gaining comfort in a canoe, and enjoy a morning on Dane County waterways.. This is a beginner level paddle on the Yahara River from Babcock County Park to Fish Camp County Park.
We have 10 canoes available to rent for $30 each or you are welcome to bring your own boat ($10 - no paddle boards). Each canoe can hold up to three adults (paddling) or 2 adults and 1-2 children. A PFD must be worn at all times while out on the water and will be provided.
Details:
The route is about 4.25 miles long. It is a very easy paddle and is great for novice paddlers.
8:30 - 8:45 am - Boat drop off at Babcock County Park - Boat Launch, 2909 US Highway 51 McFarland, WI 53558
8:45 - 9:15 am - Park vehicles at Fish Camp County Park - Canoe Launch, 3359 Fish Camp Rd, McFarland, WI 53558
9:15 - 9:30 am – Remarks/Safety Talk
9:30 - 11;30 am - Paddle the Yahara River from Babcock County Park to Fish Camp County Park
Registration is required.
