Event Description

Love working with youth? Want to share your love for nature? This is the role for you! Join us on to become a Volunteer Educator for Lussier Family Heritage Center (LFHC). During this time you will learn more about LFHC, our staff and programs, tour the facility, learn more about your role as a Volunteer Educator, and practice your educator skills! We are currently we are only looking for volunteers to help with our preschool age program weekday mornings! 

  • Lil’ Explorer Adventure - Mondays 9:15 am – 11:45 am.
    Our Lil' Explorer Adventures program provide a space for young kids to use all five senses, be active in the outdoors and learn how to work together. Each session we will investigate a new theme through games, walks, crafts, stories and so much more! The 90 minute guided program will be followed by 30 minutes of youth-led free play with friends through our natural play area and jungle gym. Adult chaperones are required to attend this event with their child.
  • Lil’ Explorer Storytime - Tuesdays in the summer 8:45am - 10:15am
    Join Lussier Family Heritage Center staff and Dane County Library System for a story based on the natural world and a visit from the Dream Bus! We will meet and read under the Oak Tree in front of the Heritage Center, and will be doing an activity/craft following the story. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, and anything else you need to comfortably enjoy the story each week. Story Time readings will alternate weekly between English and Spanish! Adult chaperones are required to attend this event with their child.
