Event Description
Join Dane County Parks staff for an overnight experience in our Learn to Camp program! Groups will learn all kinds of outdoor skills, like how to set up a tent, use a camp stove, and more! Our goal is to support first time campers in enjoying nature and supporting a lifetime full of camping memories.
The evening will involve setting up the tent campsite, cooking, and a guided evening hike. After a community bonfire we will enjoy the outdoor air from our tents. In the morning after breakfast, we will head out for a morning paddle on the lake in canoes. This program is geared towards beginners.
All equipment can be provided, you are welcome to bring your own. Dinner and breakfast is NOT provided. You will receive a welcome packet with information on packing, suggested recipes, and requesting equipment 2 weeks prior to the event.
